    Commercial Indoor Playground Netting

Indoor playground netting can form a boundary, a crawl surface or a climbing activity. These uses are not interchangeable. This procurement guide focuses on the specification and evidence needed to quote a compatible net system, not a generic rope shop or a routine whole-site inspection checklist.

What should a playground netting specification include?

Identify the function first: containment, a load-bearing play element or a decorative boundary. Submit the installed dimensions, connection details and intended users, then ask for model-specific material, opening and attachment documentation. Do not select mesh solely by colour, price or an unsupported safety-net label.

    Define the Net System

    1. 01

      Separate functions

Label every net location and its intended role. A containment panel must not be substituted for a climbing or load-bearing element without a documented design review.

    2. 02

      Specify the installed geometry

Show panel boundaries, corners, access openings and the frame interface. Account for the fitted shape and manufacturer instructions rather than quoting only a loose fabric size.

    3. 03

      Document attachments

Request approved fixing and edge details, compatible hardware and installation instructions. The panel and its attachments must be assessed together.

    4. 04

      Plan traceable replacements

Keep panel identifiers, drawings and revision information so a later replacement can match the approved assembly. Obtain written approval for substitutions.

    Compare Netting Procurement Uses

    Containment panels

Request the specified opening geometry, boundary details and visibility requirements. A net colour is not an entrapment or strength assessment.

    Load-bearing play nets

Require documented intended use and structural interfaces. Do not reuse a perimeter-panel specification for a bridge or climbing route.

    Access boundaries

Coordinate supervised gates or approved access openings with the net layout. Maintain staff access without improvised cut-outs.

    Replacement panels

Supply the original part ID, fitted dimensions, fixing photos and revision. Similar appearance does not establish interchangeability.
